Freed Israeli Hostage Blasts UN Over Lack of Action

Eli Sharabi, an Israeli hostage held by Hamas for 491 days, asked the United Nations where it was during his captivity and called on the organization to prove its commitment to humanity by releasing remaining hostages.

Sharabi expressed anger and frustration with the UN’s inaction, saying he was beaten, chained, and starved while being held. He questioned why the world did not intervene to save him and many others still being held captive.

The UN Security Council heard Sharabi’s testimony, with representatives from various countries condemning Israel’s actions and calling for a ceasefire and release of hostages. However, no concrete action was taken to address the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

Sharabi also spoke about his own experience, saying he was among 251 people taken hostage, including women and children who were killed during the conflict. He urged the UN to bring home all remaining hostages and end the fighting.

The UN Security Council meeting was seen as an opportunity for Sharabi to raise awareness about the plight of hostages still being held captive in Gaza. His appearance sparked a renewed call for action from world leaders, with some demanding an immediate release of hostages and others calling for an investigation into alleged human rights abuses by Israeli forces.
