Two men have admitted their involvement in the theft of France’s crown jewels from the Louvre museum and are now in custody, awaiting trial. The suspects, who were arrested last weekend, claim they had no inside help from the museum staff. Authorities have recovered 150 DNA samples and tracked down the suspects after a 96-hour interrogation. However, the stolen jewels, worth $102 million, remain unfound. Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau is hopeful that the thieves will be caught and the jewels returned to their rightful place in the Louvre. The investigation has involved over 100 investigators and has led to the arrest of two men with prior records for theft.
