Police investigating the death of French streamer Raphaël Graven, also known as Jeanpormanove, say they have interviewed several people who were present when he died and seized equipment and videos. The 46-year-old was known for his extreme online challenges, which involved apparent violence and humiliation.
Graven’s body was found at a residence in a village north of Nice on Monday. French government minister Clara Chappaz described his death as an “absolute horror,” saying he had been subjected to months of humiliation. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
Police have questioned people present at the time of the death, but so far, no clear cause has been found. Equipment and videos seized during the investigation may hold clues to what led to Graven’s death.
This case is linked to another ongoing probe into alleged “deliberate violent acts” against vulnerable people, which started in December 2024. In that investigation, Graven and another streamer, Coudoux, were questioned earlier this year, both denying involvement in violence or humiliation.
A spokesperson for the live-streaming platform Kick, where Graven broadcast, said the company was “urgently reviewing” the circumstances surrounding his death.
