Frontier Airlines has announced its arrival at Snohomish County’s Paine Field Airport, bringing direct flights to Denver, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. The new service means that travelers can now fly directly to 10 cities from the airport, with Denver as a major addition.
Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers welcomed Frontier Airlines to Paine Field, praising its economic impact and the convenience it will bring to residents. “Paine Field is a crown jewel of our region, having the greatest economic impact of any airport in Washington,” said Executive Somers. The new service is set to begin on June 2 with three-times weekly flights to each destination.
The airline’s arrival brings more opportunities for job creation and economic development, as Paine Field already contributes nearly $60 billion annually in economic impact. Council members Nate Nehring and Megan Dunn welcomed Frontier Airlines, citing the importance of public-private partnerships in providing world-class service.
While some commenters expressed skepticism about Frontier Airlines’ reliability and customer service, others were excited to have more flight options from Paine Field. The airline’s promotional introductory fares are expected to make travel more affordable for residents.
As a critical transportation hub, Paine Field supports over 150,000 workers and contributes significantly to the region’s economy. With Frontier Airlines joining the airport’s growing list of carriers, travelers can now access destinations with greater ease and convenience.
