FTX Executives Released Early From Prison Sentences

Two former FTX executives, Ryan Salame and Caroline Ellison, are set to be released from prison earlier than expected. Salame, who led FTX’s Bahamas-based subsidiary, was sentenced to over seven years for his role in the 2022 crypto scandal and is now expected to be released on March 1, 2031, more than a year ahead of his initial release date.

Ellison, who led FTX’s hedge fund arm Alameda Research, was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to seven counts of fraud and conspiracy. She is scheduled to be released on July 20, 2026, three months earlier than her initial release date.

Other top FTX executives, Gary Wang and Nishad Singh, were given no jail time due to their cooperation with the federal government. Salame’s reduced sentence is attributed to good conduct credits earned while incarcerated, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons records.
