Fujifilm has released the GFX100RF, a compact camera boasting a massive 102MP medium format sensor and fixed 35mm f4 lens. The $4,900 model features a four-stop ND filter, aspect ratio dial, and dedicated face/eye AF.
The GFX100RF uses the same 102MP CMOS II HS sensor found on the GFX100 II mirrorless camera. Weighing in at 1.62 pounds, it’s heavier than many full-frame mirrorless cameras but has a premium feel due to its machined aluminum construction.
This compact camera is designed for street photography, with quick access to shutter speed, exposure compensation, and aperture settings. It also features a tele-converter selector/lever for digitally changing focal length, as well as a new “Surround View” function that displays the area outside the image range.
The fixed lens suppresses spherical aberration and field curvature thanks to a 10-element configuration, while the camera’s leaf shutter reduces size and allows for closer focusing. The GFX100RF also features a built-in four-stop ND filter, face/eye AF, and fast autofocus with a 6 fps burst speed.
Other notable features include 4K video recording at 30fps 4:2:2 10-bit, up to 13+ stops of dynamic range in FLog-2 mode, and SSD recording. It will be available in black or silver when it arrives in late April 2025.
