Future Folded iPhone Predicted to Retain Premium Price Tag

A recent report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that Apple is developing a new foldable iPhone with an AI-driven design, expected to be released between 2025 and 2026. The device will feature a book-style fold rather than a flip phone, boasting a crease-free inner display and a slim profile.

When folded, the iPhone will measure 9-9.5mm in thickness, while unfolding it will stand at 4.5-4.8mm. The hinge is expected to be made of stainless steel and titanium alloy, providing durability and strength. Touch ID will return to the side button, a long-overdue feature.

The report also predicts that mass production will begin in late 2026, with an official launch date set for early 2027. However, this might come as a surprise given Apple’s history of releasing iPhones in September or October. The device is expected to retail above $2,000 and $2,500, but Kuo believes the premium price will be justified by its quality and status as a must-have device.

The development comes as some of Apple’s competitors have already released foldable phones with similar features. With this new iPhone, Apple aims to address one of the biggest concerns with current foldable devices: the noticeable crease where the two halves join. If successful, it could mark a significant improvement in the design and functionality of future foldable iPhones.
