The Group of Seven (G7) members emphasized the need for a ceasefire in Russia’s conflict with Ukraine, while leaving out direct references to China’s export subsidies and currency manipulation. This shift in tone suggests a more conciliatory approach towards global economic issues, differing from previous meetings where defense of free trade was prominent.
