A coalition of organizations called Collective Shout claims that Steam and Itch.io have hundreds of games tagged with explicit content including rape, incest, and child abuse. The organization wrote an open letter to major payment processors in July, urging them to stop processing payments on these platforms unless they addressed the issue. Several co-signing organizations failed to respond to questions about verifying the accusations before supporting Collective Shout’s claims.
