Garmin Instinct 3 Brings OLED Displays to Adventure Watch Series

Garmin has announced the Instinct 3, its latest adventure watch series model, which features OLED display technology. The new watch is part of the company’s major sport watch lines, including the Venu, Fenix, and Forerunner families.

The Instinct 3 retains its chunky design with a raised bezel for added protection, but some models will have an OLED screen instead of the traditional LCD display. The OLED versions come in two sizes: 45mm and 50mm.

Compared to other Garmin watches like the Forerunner 965, the Instinct 3 has smaller screens, despite being built with a larger 47mm case. However, the battery life is impressive, with the 50mm model rated for up to 24 days of use and the 45mm version lasting 18 days.

Some limitations of the Instinct 3 series include music playback capabilities and map downloads. However, they do support course planning through the Garmin Connect app and have good water resistance at 10ATM.

The Instinct 3 Solar model has solar charging capabilities, while the Instinct E is a more affordable option without metal bezels and an LED flashlight. The pricing for these models ranges from $299 to $499.

All Instinct 3 models will be available for pre-order on January 10 through Garmin’s website.
