Garmin Instinct 3 Review: Rugged Smartwatch with Upgraded Display

Garmin has expanded its lineup with the new Instinct 3 series, which boasts an upgraded AMOLED display for the first time. The watch is designed to be a rugged smartwatch companion, featuring a built-in flashlight and long battery life.

The Instinct 3 offers several notable features, including a variable intensity and strobe mode on its built-in flashlight, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking or running. The watch also comes with an AMOLED display that promises up to 24 days of battery life on a single charge, while the solar version has unlimited battery life.

Beyond its display, the Instinct 3 features a metal-reinforced bezel, thermal and shock resistance, and water resistance up to 100 meters. It also includes health features such as tracking steps, continuous heart rate monitoring, and advanced sleep monitoring.

The watch is available in two sizes (45mm and 50mm) with several colorways, including limited-edition Tropical collection colors like blue and light green. Pricing starts at $400 for the solar model, with the AMOLED version starting at $450. Both models will be available to order from January 10.

Garmin’s Instinct 3 offers a compelling combination of ruggedness, long battery life, and health features, making it an attractive option for those seeking a reliable smartwatch.
