Eight Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) workers and six Palestinian Civil Defence members were killed by Israeli forces during a humanitarian mission in Gaza. The incident occurred when Refaat Radwan, a 24-year-old paramedic, was filming the scene from his ambulance.
Radwan’s final moments showed him praying and calling to his mother for forgiveness before being shot. Israeli soldiers had already attacked and killed several colleagues who were trying to assist those injured by the initial attack.
Those lost include Ashraf Abu Labda, a 32-year-old medic who started volunteering with PRCS in 2021; Ezzeddin Shaath, a 51-year-old father of six who joined PRCS in 2000; Mohamed Bahloul, a 36-year-old veteran rescue worker; Raed el-Sharif, a 25-year-old photographer who volunteered with PRCS in 2018; Refaat Radwan, the paramedic; Saleh Muammar, a 42-year-old volunteer; and Assaad al-Nassasra, a 47-year-old father of six.
The incident highlights the risks faced by humanitarian workers in Gaza, where tensions between Israel and Palestine remain high.
