Hundreds of Palestinian children staged a protest in Gaza City, demanding an end to the killing and hunger they face under Israel’s occupation. The demonstration called on international organizations and human rights groups to intervene and protect children.
Sixteen-year-old Rimas al-Hindi spoke about living in fear and hunger, while 13-year-old Rahaf al-Fayoumi pleaded for safety and education. The children said their voices must be heard to end the killing and genocide.
The protest was organized by Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights, which confirmed it has sent the children’s appeal to international human rights bodies and UN special rapporteurs. The organization reported that at least 18,000 children have been killed since October 2023, with 122 dying of starvation in recent weeks.
Gaza’s Health Ministry is also facing a severe shortage of blood units due to widespread famine and malnutrition. The daily demand for blood has exceeded 350 units, but sources are dwindling as people suffer from hunger.
