Gaza Conflict Death Toll Revealed to be 41% Higher Than Reported

A major study published in The Lancet found Israeli forces have killed more than 64,000 people in Gaza since October 7, 2023, with the widely reported death toll being significantly underestimates. Conducted by researchers at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, the study measured traumatic injury deaths between October 2023 and June 2024, revealing that the majority – 59 percent – were women, children, and elderly individuals. The authors warn that the actual death toll may be even higher due to excluded nontrauma-related deaths resulting from healthcare disruptions, food insecurity, and inadequate water and sanitation.
