At least 74 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip after Israeli forces launched airstrikes that hit a crowded cafe and fired on Palestinians seeking food aid. The cafe, one of the few businesses still operating during the ongoing conflict, was targeted with an airstrike that left dozens dead.
Eyewitnesses describe the scene as chaotic, with many wounded and critically injured people being taken to hospitals. The Israeli military said it was reviewing information about the attacks, but witnesses claim troops attacked crowds returning from aid sites, firing indiscriminately.
The violence comes amid a broader escalation of fighting in Gaza City and the Jabaliya refugee camp. Israel has intensified its bombardment campaign, issuing evacuation orders for large areas of northern Gaza and warning civilians of operations targeting Hamas’ military command centers.
Gaza’s Health Ministry has reported over 500 Palestinians killed in recent clashes related to aid distribution programs. The conflict has so far claimed over 56,000 Palestinian lives, with more than half being women and children.
