Gazans Return Home After Israel-Hamas Ceasefire

A fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has allowed thousands of Palestinians in Gaza to return home after months of displacement.

The truce, which came into effect last month, marked a significant shift in the conflict that has ravaged Gaza since 2007. While many Gazans have been able to leave their homes, others remain trapped behind Israeli military checkpoints.

Gaza’s infrastructure is severely damaged, and basic services such as electricity, water, and sanitation are severely disrupted. The return of displaced Palestinians will depend on Israel’s willingness to provide humanitarian assistance and repair damaged homes.

The truce has sparked hopes for a longer-term peace agreement, but its long-term viability remains uncertain.
