Google has introduced a new circle or pill-shaped key design for some beta testers of Gboard for Android, aiming to give the app a more modern look. The update, available in version 15.1, replaces rectangular borders with rounded shapes on letters, while the space bar and other keys now have a pill shape. However, users may find it cramped if they have “Long press for symbols” enabled, which can overlap letter keys. The design change is part of Google’s efforts to simplify the Dynamic Color theme and update other features. It’s not yet widely available but will be rolled out to more beta testers in the coming days.
