Gemini Flash 2.0 has expanded its features to more users, granting access to its image generation feature and allowing for the removal of original watermarks from pictures downloaded from platforms like Getty Images, Shutterstock, and Istock. However, this comes with a catch – Gemini leaves its own tiny watermark at the bottom left corner of the image.
This new feature is part of Google’s recent announcement that Gemini Flash 2.0 will be available to more people. One of the notable features is the ability to experiment with image generation. This capability allows users to give Gemini a prompt and generate illustrated images, detailed recipes, and text renders for social media posts.
While this feature seems useful, it also enables the removal of watermarks from images without consent, which is illegal. Reddit users have discovered that Gemini can remove original watermarks but leaves its own logo behind. This has raised concerns about potential lawsuits.
Google has pulled the plug on this specific prompt, and users are no longer able to generate watermark-free images using AI Studio. Android Central has reached out to Google for more information on this matter, which will be provided in an update soon.
