Gene Hackman’s Wife Found Cause of Death After Dog Mystery Solved

Veterinary report sheds light on mysterious deaths of Gene Hackman and wife Betsy Arakawa. The report reveals that their female kelpie mix, Zinna, died from dehydration and starvation due to being confined in a crate for an extended period. This was linked to the couple’s dog care decisions, with Zinna having recently undergone surgery.

The investigation found Betsy Arakawa had passed away due to hantavirus on February 11, while Gene Hackman died a week later from heart disease complicated by Alzheimer’s disease. Despite their deaths, the couple’s two other dogs were alive and roaming freely in the home. Their veterinarian described Zinna as an “excellent” dog owner who had recently undergone major surgery, leading to her tragic fate.
