A manhunt is underway in western Germany after three bodies were discovered in a residential building in Weitefeld, a village with a population of around 2,200 residents. The suspect fled upon arrival, leaving officers to search for him. Police have cordoned off the area and are checking vehicles entering and leaving.
Residents have been advised to stay at home and avoid picking up hitchhikers as an investigation unfolds. A special task force has been deployed, with a police helicopter also on site.
The incident occurred in a family home, where three victims were found: two males and one female. Authorities have not released details about the circumstances surrounding their deaths. The mayor of Weitefeld described the tragedy as “unimaginable” for his small community.
