Giant Terror Bird’s Remains Suggest Caiman Attack

A 13-million-year-old fossil found in Colombia suggests that a colossal terror bird was killed by a giant caiman. The discovery, made by AndrĂ©s Link and his team at the University of the Andes, reveals tooth marks on the bird’s lower leg. By comparing these marks with ancient predators from the region, the researchers determined that a crocodile or caiman likely inflicted the wounds.
