Giants and Jets Wrap Up Joint Practice with Mixed Results

The New York Giants and New York Jets held their second joint practice of the preseason, with both teams struggling to find their footing. The Giants’ offense was inconsistent in the run game, but they found success in the red zone. Quarterback Russell Wilson led the charge, completing 8-of-11 passes for 61 yards.

Meanwhile, rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart struggled with accuracy, completing only 4 of 6 passes. However, he did show promising signs in his deep-ball abilities, connecting with fellow rookie wide receiver Beaux Collins for a touchdown.

The Giants’ defense was dominant on the field, giving the Jets’ offense trouble throughout practice. Edge rusher Brian Burns led the charge, notching at least one sack and showing impressive speed and power. The defensive front also struggled to contain the run, but held strong in the passing game.

One notable moment came when rookie right tackle Marcus Mbow filled in for injured Jermaine Eluemunor, impressing coaches with his performance. However, some players were absent from practice, including WR Malik Nabers and CB Tre Hawkins.

With just one week to go before their preseason matchup against the Jets, the Giants’ coaching staff will be watching closely as they fine-tune their roster decisions.
