Giants’ Draft Picks Shine in Preseason Opener

The New York Giants kicked off their 2025 preseason with a 34-25 win over the Buffalo Bills on Saturday afternoon. Quarterbacks Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart made their NFL debuts, impressing coach Brian Daboll.

Carter, the third overall pick, played limited snaps but generated some pressure. Coach Joe Schoen praised his performance, saying he “looks like he got a couple pressures.”

Dart, on the other hand, had a standout game, completing 12 of 19 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown. His second drive showcased his timing and anticipation, as he threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey.

“Efficient. Effective. Aggressive. Confident in the pocket,” coach Daboll described Dart’s performance. Russell Wilson, who started the game, completed six passes on the opening drive before handing over to Carter and Dart.

The Giants will hold joint practices with the Jets on Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of their annual preseason matchup on August 16. Coach Daboll expects competitive practices and wants the team to take another step forward.
