Giants Explore Minority Stake Sale for $7.5 Billion+

The New York Giants are considering selling a minority stake in the team, with valuations putting the franchise at around $7.5 billion. The Mara and Tisch families have hired Moelis & Company to explore the sale of up to 10% of the team. This move comes as private-equity investment in NFL teams is on the rise. Last year, the Eagles sold a similar stake for $8.1-8.3 billion. If successful, the sale would be less than the full franchise’s worth due to the lack of control over the team. The Giants’ team was founded by Tim Mara in 1925 and has been owned by multiple family members since its split between John Mara and Steve Tisch in 1991.
