Santiago Giménez continued his scoring streak in the Champions League, but this time for AC Milan against his former team Feyenoord. Giménez’s goal just 40 seconds into the second leg of their knockout playoff helped Milan initially lead 1-0.
However, Feyenoord leveled the match and advanced to the last 16 with a 2-1 aggregate score. Giménez has scored six goals in seven Champions League matches this season, but all previous goals came for Feyenoord during his time with the club. He also scored twice for Milan in Serie A.
Giménez moved to Milan from Feyenoord last month in a 30 million euro transfer. The 23-year-old Mexico international apologized after scoring the goal, holding up his hands in gesture of remorse.
