Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has denied calling questions from two Georgia election workers “abusive” during a contempt hearing, but admitted that some of the queries were “intrusive and impossible to answer”. Giuliani was testifying in court about his reluctance to turn over assets as part of a $148 million defamation verdict.
Giuliani’s statements came after he was accused of ignoring court orders to surrender assets. The Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Wandrea Moss, have been seeking information from him to determine which property they need to seize as payment towards their damages.
The hearing in Manhattan federal court focused on whether US District Judge Lewis Liman should hold Giuliani in contempt of court for failing to comply with the court orders.
