Global Shipping’s Navigation Systems Hacked in Iran-Israel War

A recent incident involving a Greek oil supertanker has highlighted a critical vulnerability in satellite-based navigation systems used by 80% of global trade. The Nissos Nikouria, carrying $260 million worth of Kuwaiti crude, disappeared from its captain’s screen and appeared on a hilltop near an Iranian gas field due to electronic interference. This is not an isolated incident, as thousands of vessels experienced similar disruptions during the Iran-Israel conflict. The exposure of this flaw puts the entire shipping industry at risk, making it susceptible to mass-jamming attacks.
