Supporters worldwide are gathering in solidarity with Ukraine as it approaches its third-year anniversary since Russia’s full-scale invasion. The events coincide with protests against US President Donald Trump’s verbal attack on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his blamed role in the war.
A march is scheduled for Saturday in Washington DC, from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, in cooperation with the US Embassy of Ukraine and the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Philadelphia. Organizers say American support for Ukraine is crucial for global security and stability.
Multiple US-based groups, including Ukrainian-American organizations, have come together to organize the event. “This gathering serves as a powerful demonstration of solidarity between the Ukrainian and American people,” said Nadiya Shaporynska, one of the organizers.
Similar events are taking place globally, with thousands of Americans participating in cities across the country. A Canadian march, “Toronto’s Global Action Event– Stand With Ukraine – 3rd Anniversary,” is planned for Sunday, with over 500 cities from 72 countries participating.
