Gmail Update Prioritizes Most Relevant Emails in Search Results

Google has launched a new update for Gmail that aims to improve search functionality by considering factors like email recency, most-clicked emails, and frequent contacts. The update uses AI to surface relevant emails at the top of search results, saving users time and helping them find important information more easily.

The new feature also introduces a toggle that allows users to switch between “Most Relevant” or “Most Recent” display options on search result pages. This change is aimed at catering to users who prefer seeing chronological order over the default “Most Relevant” option.

The update is currently available globally for personal Google accounts and can be accessed through both web and mobile apps. Google plans to expand this feature to business users in the future as part of its ongoing efforts to compete with Apple’s Mail app, which has gained various Gmail-like features recently.
