‘Good Morning America’ Celebrates Times Square Departure with Rowdy Farewell Party

ABC News marked the end of an era as “Good Morning America” taped its final show at Times Square Studios, a location it called home for 26 years. The crew celebrated with a boozy breakfast party at Irish pub O’Donoghue’s, complete with nachos, wings, and booze. Anchor George Stephanopoulos led the toasts, saying he’d miss the neighborhood that had been a “tremendous” part of their show. Robin Roberts expressed optimism for the future, calling it an exciting new chapter.

The celebration also marked the retirement of head stagehand Gary Minor after 37 years with the show. The crew bid farewell to Gary as they prepare to move to their new Hudson Square studio. Despite the bittersweet goodbye, “GMA” is eager to put the neighborhood on the map and film in various locations throughout Hudson Square. Upcoming guests include Alicia Keys and Eric Dane for Diane Sawyer’s exclusive interview, with appearances by Marcus Samuelsson, Anthony Ramos, Caroline Rhea, and Keke Palmer next week.
