Google has made a significant shift in its approach to artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual assistants, abandoning its long-standing Google Assistant tool in favor of a new AI-powered assistant called Gemini.
In a little over two years, Gemini has become the go-to AI tool for Google, offering users answers, brainstorming help, and interaction with other apps and services. The tool’s features are mostly free, but those who pay for Gemini Advanced get access to additional features such as extended limits on file uploads, larger context windows, and more.
However, Google is now considering introducing new subscription plans that could potentially unlock access to even more advanced AI-powered tools like Gemini Pro and Ultra. These plans may offer higher limits than the current Gemini Advanced tier but might also come with a lower price tag.
While details are scarce, Google’s I/O conference or Android Show could be the platforms where the company officially announces its new approach. The new AI-powered tool has already started making its way to some users as an upsell prompt, suggesting that it may become available to more people soon.
