Google has introduced two new features in its latest Android update, aimed at enhancing user safety and security. The first feature is a built-in scam detection tool for the Messages app, which uses on-device AI to analyze conversations for suspicious patterns and displays an on-screen prompt when it detects potential scammers.
Additionally, Pixel Watch 3 owners will receive a pulse loss detection feature that automatically calls emergency services in cases of cardiac arrest or circulatory failure. This feature has been cleared by the FDA and is set to launch in the US at the end of March.
The scam detection feature is available by default and can be turned off at any time, while the pulse loss detection feature will activate during events that cause a loss of pulse. Both features are now available in 14 countries, including the EU, and mark another step forward for Google’s efforts to prioritize user safety and security.
