HP has finally turned Google’s hologram call concept into reality with its latest device, HP Dimension. The system uses six cameras and AI-powered technology to create lifelike 3D videos of each participant during video calls. No headsets or glasses are required, only the Google Beam solution.
The experience offers realistic dimensions, depth, color, and even eye contact. It also features spatial audio and adaptive lighting to enhance the ‘in-person’ feel. HP claims it will provide a native Zoom Rooms or Google Meet experience with support for 3D one-on-one calls, traditional group meetings, and interoperability with cloud-based video services.
The device aims to address a common workplace challenge: staying connected in remote settings. A recent test showed a significant improvement in memory recall, non-verbal behaviors, and focus during meetings. The HP Dimension will be available starting in late 2025 for $24,999.
