Google has announced the rollout of support for the Nest Cam IQ Indoor and Outdoor (2017) and the Nest Hub Max (2019) in its public preview program. This means that users can now transfer all their Nest Cams, including those launched as early as 2015, into a single app.
The new Google Home app offers several features, such as access to updated camera history and settings, and the ability to quickly switch between timelines and event lists. Additionally, users can view live streams from all their Nest cameras in the Favorites tab, control thousands of devices from one app, and create powerful automations with their cameras.
However, some features like the Supersight close-up tracking view on the Nest Cam IQ Indoor and Outdoor are not currently available in the Google Home app. Users will receive prompts to migrate their devices, but can still choose to reverse transfer them back to the Nest app if needed.
For users already owning a Nest Hub Max, the transfer process is explained in more detail in the Help Center. It’s essential to note that once the device has been transferred, it cannot be reversed.
