Google has announced that users of the US and UK versions of the 3rd gen Nest Learning Thermostat and the Nest Thermostat E can now schedule temperature adjustments using the Google Home app. This feature, previously only available to newer models, allows users of these older thermostats to ditch the dedicated Nest app.
The update began rolling out last week, but it may not yet be available to all Nest thermostat users. Existing temperature schedules from the Nest app will be transferred to the Home app, which also enables users to set sensor and fan schedules. Other improvements include more vibrant colors, updated descriptions, and a refreshed energy dashboard with detailed weekly comparisons of year-over-year energy usage.
This expansion is part of Google’s efforts to simplify its ecosystem and provide seamless integration across devices.
