Google has announced several new features for its Google Home service, made possible by the integration of Gemini AI. These updates aim to make life easier for users, providing more convenience and automation in their homes.
For Nest users, Gemini can now view camera clips and provide detailed descriptions of what’s happening in them. This feature allows users to easily find specific footage, such as searching a history to determine if packages were delivered or if pets are being naughty.
Additionally, Google Home is introducing the “Help Me Create” feature, which enables users to set up reminders, make announcements, and more with just natural language inputs. This will simplify automating tasks in minutes that previously took hours.
The new features also include:
* AI-powered camera clip descriptions
* Searchable camera history using questions like “Did the kids play in the backyard this afternoon?”
* Help Me Create examples for security, health, wellness, convenience, and getting things done
* Integration with Pixel Tablet for doorbell notifications, a dream clock, and home panel screensaver
These updates will be rolled out to a small group of Nest Aware Plus subscribers in Public Preview later this year, starting on Android.
