Google Keep Redesign Adds FAB Menu for Easier Note Creation

Google has redesigned its Android app, Google Keep, introducing a floating action button (FAB) menu to make note creation a two-step process. The update adds a toggle in Settings to “Create text notes by default,” which is off by default.

To create a new note, tap the corner button, and it will immediately open a new note for typing. To create other types of notes, such as audio recordings or handwritten notes, long press on the FAB. The update also restores the shortcut for creating an Audio note, but recording text-to-speech functionality remains unchanged.

This redesign began in January and is now rolling out via server-side updates. Users can check for the update by looking for version 5.25.102.01.90 of Google Keep on their device.
