Google News chief Shailesh Prakash has resigned, according to The Wall Street Journal. His departure comes as tensions between Google and news outlets continue. Last year, Prakash’s organization was one of the first at Google to be affected by rolling layoffs. He had previously warned employees that there would be a “reckoning” due to excessive hiring during the pandemic.
