Google has addressed six critical vulnerabilities affecting its Android operating system, marking a respite from recent months where dozens of software defects were disclosed and patched. The update comes after Google’s last security patch was issued in July with no patches released in August.
According to the company, one of the most severe flaws – CVE-2025-48530 – is a critical remote code execution vulnerability that doesn’t require user interaction for exploitation. Two other high-severity vulnerabilities – CVE-2025-22441 and CVE-2025-48533 – affect the Android framework, while two patches also address vulnerabilities in Qualcomm components.
No currently exploited defects were included in this month’s security update, as per Google. The company has released source code patches for all six vulnerabilities to the Android Open Source Project repository by Wednesday, allowing partners to address common vulnerabilities on different devices.
