Google has introduced a new feature called Remix in its Photos app that allows users to cartoonize their photos effortlessly. To get started, users can head into the “Create New” section and select the “Remix” option.
The Remix feature offers several styles, including Anime, Comic Book, 3D animation, Sketch, and more. Users can choose a photo they’d like to remix and tap “generate” to see their results. If they’re unhappy with the outcome, they can try again or regenerate the photo in a different style.
Google notes that well-lit, in-focus photos with only a few subjects facing the camera yield the best results for the Remix feature. Too many people in an image can cause the feature to fail.
Once users are happy with their remixed photo, they can save and share it with others. The Remix update will gradually become available on devices via a server-side rollout.
This new feature is part of Google’s efforts to enhance its creative-focused photo-to-video capabilities, similar to those found in other apps like Gemini. With the introduction of Remix, users can now easily transform their static images into engaging, animated videos or cartoonized photos.
