Google has started rolling out a new AI feature called Remix, which can transform any image into a cartoon style. The feature is currently available in the mobile app version of Google Photos and allows users to choose from four different art styles, including anime, comic book, sketch, and 3D animation.
To use Remix, users need to tap on the “+” sign in the top-right corner of the Google Photos app, select the Remix option, and then choose a style. The AI will then transform the selected image into the desired cartoon style. Users can regenerate the result if they’re not satisfied with the first outcome.
Remix is just one of several new features coming to Google Photos, including a photo-to-video feature that uses generative AI. While Remix is easy to use and doesn’t require uploading photos to other apps or services, it’s only available for some users at the moment. Users can expect the Create tab, which will offer access to all these features, to roll out later.
The AI-powered remixer has gained popularity on social media, with many users using it to create Studio Ghibli-inspired images. With Remix now available in Google Photos, users can easily transform their photos into cartoon styles without having to use other apps or services.
