Google Photos Rolls Out iOS Updates for iPhones

Google Photos is introducing several upgrades for iPhones, while its Android counterpart will receive similar features “soon.” Here’s what’s new in the iOS version:

Light Mode: The app now matches your iOS theme, switching to light or dark based on system settings. This feature may appeal to those who prefer light mode during the day.

Glanceable Photos Data: Information such as date, time, and location is displayed above each photo when opened. This data was previously available but required manual selection.

Streamlined Actions Menu: The actions menu has been simplified, with a focus on basic functions like viewing information, creating albums, and managing storage. Some existing features have been removed and are now accessible via the Add to (+) button.

New Photo Management Features: Managing photo stacks and burst mode photos is easier than before, allowing for removal of items, unstacking, multi-select options, and changing top picks.

Badges for Quick Actions: Action badges above photos enable quick execution of functions like categorizing, playing Live Photos, saving shared photos, and managing storage.
