As a photographer, I was excited to test the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL’s cameras on a photo walk around Paris. Although the phone’s hardware hasn’t changed much from last year, its new Tensor G5 processor and AI tools make it Google’s best camera phone yet.
The main camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main camera, an ultrawide camera with a 48-megapixel sensor, and a telephoto camera offering 5x optical zoom. I put the camera to the test in various situations, from fast-moving subjects like a one-wheel rider carrying a tiny dog to scenic views of the city.
The results are impressive, with solid exposure and pin-sharp details. The phone’s HDR capabilities capture vibrant colors without overexposing or underexposing any part of the scene. I was particularly impressed by the ultrawide camera’s ability to maintain accurate color tones when switching between lenses.
In addition to its camera capabilities, the Pixel 10 Pro XL features new AI tools like Auto Best Take, which automatically merges group photos into a single, well-composed image. There’s also a selfie camera and Camera Coach, an AI-powered feature that analyzes scenes and provides tips for better photography.
Overall, I’m impressed with the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL’s cameras, which offer exceptional performance, accurate colors, and advanced features like AI-powered tools. Whether you’re a professional photographer or a casual snapper, this phone is worth considering for its camera capabilities alone.
