Google’s latest Pixel Feature Drop brings several exciting updates to its flagship devices. For international users waiting on AI features, this month’s drop is mostly good news. One of the standout features is the ability to generate images of people using Pixel Studio, a text-to-image prompts tool that was previously limited to animals and items.
When the update rolls out to Pixel 9 devices, users can create pictures of a person by providing a text prompt. The feature’s performance will be compared to Apple’s Image Playground, which allows users to generate images of themselves or familiar faces from their archive. However, only now is this feature starting to roll out as of this writing.
Additionally, Google Messages will be introducing AI-powered features to identify scammy text messages, similar to the Pixel’s ability to detect shady callers. The Find My Device app will also get a location-sharing upgrade, allowing users to quickly find their devices and friends on a live map.
Other new features include support for more games in Android Auto, including Candy Crush Soda Saga and Angry Birds 2. For users on the Verizon network with Pixel 9 series devices, satellite messaging is now available via Satellite SOS, enabling connectivity to emergency services when cellular or Wi-Fi is unavailable.
This month’s Feature Drop starts rolling out today. Check Google’s blog for more information on these exciting updates and how to get started with the new features.
