Google Pixel Updates Bring Improved AI, Safety Features & More

Google has rolled out its first Pixel Drop of the year, bringing a range of updates to its devices. These include improved AI features for Gemini Live, enhanced screenshots management, and new safety features such as Scam Detection and Loss of Pulse Detection.

The Gemini Live feature now supports 45 languages, allowing users to switch between them seamlessly without changing language settings. Additionally, multimodal capabilities have been added, enabling users to share images, files, and videos in conversations.

For organizing screenshots, the Pixel Screenshots app has introduced a new suggestions feature that automatically adds relevant screenshots to collections. The app can also be used with work profiles for easy organization of receipts and other documents.

Pixel Studio now allows users to create unique images of people by typing descriptions, while Pixel users in Japan and Germany will gain access to extra features such as AI-powered summaries and weather reports.

The new update also includes enhanced safety features, including Scam Detection for phone calls and Google Messages. This feature uses on-device AI to detect suspicious conversation patterns and notify users.

Satellite SOS is being expanded to Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, and Canada, allowing users to stay connected to emergency services even without cellular or Wi-Fi. The update also includes improved features for Pixel Watch 2, including Auto-bedtime Mode, which automatically detects when the user falls asleep and disables notifications.

Other updates include new streaming capabilities with Connected Cameras, easier access to voice-to-type, and personalized modes for Pixel devices. Overall, this March Pixel Drop brings a range of improvements that enhance user experience and safety features.
