Google is expanding its Quick Share feature on Android devices by introducing QR code-based sharing. The update, available in version 24.49.33 of Google Play services, allows users to share files with nearby devices without needing to add anyone as a contact or change their sharing settings.
To use this new feature, users tap the “Use QR code” option when sending files using Quick Share. A quicklink will appear on their screen, which can be scanned by multiple devices. This process eliminates the need for manual setup and ensures a seamless transfer of files between Android devices.
The update is part of Google’s ongoing efforts to simplify its sharing features and make them more accessible to users. With this new feature, Quick Share becomes an even more convenient way to share files with friends, family, or colleagues nearby.
