Google Slams DOJ’s Chrome Sale Plan as ‘Extreme’ Overreach

Google has strongly opposed a US Justice Department plan to force it to sell its popular web browser, Chrome, calling the proposal “extreme” and at odds with the law. The company argues that the proposed sale doesn’t align with its conduct found illegal by a court – exclusive contracts with browsers, phone manufacturers, and telecom carriers. A federal court judge is set to hold a hearing in April on remedy proposals, including Google’s own alternative solution.
