Alphabet’s Google has announced that it will appeal a federal judge’s decision to reduce its aggressive efforts to restore online search competition. The company stated that it “still strongly believes the Court’s original decision was wrong” and looks forward to its eventual appeal. A US District Judge had proposed less stringent measures to address Google’s monopoly on online search and advertising technology, which the Department of Justice and coalition of states found illegal. Google is expected to fight these decisions in court, particularly regarding its dominance in AI products like Gemini.
