Google TV’s Home Panel Arrives on Broader Range of Devices

Google’s Home Panel feature, which allows users to control their smart home devices directly from their TV screen, is now available on a wider range of Google TV devices. The feature, previously launched with the Chromecast with Google TV and limited to public preview participants, has been rolled out to include integrated Google TV sets from manufacturers like Hisense.

The Home Panel resides in the Quick Settings menu, granting users quick control over connected smart home devices linked to their Google Home account. This includes adjusting lights and thermostats, checking locks, viewing live camera feeds, managing smart plugs, controlling vacuums, and interacting with connected TVs and speakers.

To access the feature, users must be signed into their Google TV device with a valid Google Home account and have compatible smart devices set up within that account. However, it’s not supported on Kids profiles and requires at least one connected device or a Google Home setup to function.
