Google has launched a new AI-powered search feature called Web Guide, which aims to provide users with more organized and helpful search results. The feature utilizes Google’s Gemini AI model to categorize search queries and generate related questions.
When enabled, Web Guide reorganizes traditional “10 blue links” into separate categories, making it easier for users to find relevant information. This includes educational resources from institutions like the University of Florida and other websites with high-quality content.
Web Guide is currently available within the Google Search tab, offering a more streamlined experience compared to regular search results. Users can also opt for AI Mode, which allows Gemini to break down queries into multiple searches simultaneously.
While the feature has received positive feedback, some users have noted that additional descriptions beneath each category are not necessary and may be redundant. However, Web Guide’s ability to answer specific questions with detailed responses is a notable advantage.
To try out Web Guide, users can toggle on the test in Search Labs and explore its capabilities. Google plans to bring this feature to the “All” tab in the future, offering an even more comprehensive search experience.
